My older sister is in the early stages of Dementia and she started this quilt a few years ago,I said i would take it over and finish it for her,as you see the strips are not sewn together.
There isn't a lot of material left,I wondered about a thin border of cream then piano keys. This was like doing a jigsaw puzzle for me and I wrongly went on to make more blocks without realising or looking to see that it is meant to be square!! |
Very pretty, a great tribute to your sister. I think that you idea would look good.

I think I would go with the dark blue that is in the quilt to frame it out then do the piano keys. Just my thought. How nice of you to finish this for your sister, I'm sure she'll just love it.

Sorry I forgot to say the quilt is for her daughter the rest of the family all have a quilt made by my sister.
If I can find the dark blue I will give that a try. |
I agree with Terri, the darker blue would be perfect. I know that your niece will always treasure it. A wonderful memory of you and her mother. Love to see a picture when you finish it.
|
Aww, that's really sad about your sister. How nice of you to finish it up. HUGS

Another one that votes for a dark blue, then the keys.
Love to see the finished project. |
If you have enough of the dark blue I think that would make a nice small border, then perhaps the lighter cream for a larger outer border.
|
Sorry to hear about your sister, but sweet of you to complete the quilt for her daughter. I would go with the dark blue. I think it would make it pop.
|
I agree with some of the other people ... the dark blue and then, if possible, a light cream border.
Any way you finish this beautiful quilt will be perfect. What a wonderful thing you are doing for your sister. |
