I'm in this midst of deciding where in my house to set up my quilting. I only had a quilting "area" previously and now with kids moving out I have a choice of two rooms and I'm having difficulty deciding. Here's the dilemna....
Room A is 14.5' x 9' (130 sq.ft.), on the second floor with one window which provides nice natural light. Room B is 10.8' x 19' (205 sq.ft.), on the lower level with two windows but not as much natural light available (as it's on the lower level). So small room with nice natural light, versus very large room with not as much natural light. Which do you think you would prefer? |
I'd take the larger room. Natural light is nice, but prolonged exposure to sunlight can fade some fabrics. I'm in a 11x10 room now and while it was great to begin with, I am rapidly running out of room! :|

go big!

I'd probably go with the lower level, just because I do a lot of getting up and doing other things too. Running up and down stairs would kill my knees.

Use both!! Tee-hee!!
Do you like climbing the stairs? Are you normally upstairs or downstairs? Where do you like to hang out? I like to be close to the washer and dryer so I can multi-task, but that's just me! |
i would go for the largest room, extra lighting can always be added , and you don't want too much natural light shining on your fabrics anyway. for me its all about space :) i started in the smaller available room in my house, and within months was moving everything again should have gone with the extra space in the first place. :)

Go big.

I'd go big.

I would be taking both. One for my stash and the other for quilting.

Which one is closest to the bathroom?
