What is wrong with me??? I always seem to make every quilt more difficult than it started out. I am doing a fairly easy quilt right now, hexagons with small triangles on all sides, sewn in rows. I want to hand quilt it so I planned on doing ivory borders, to match the triangles, and do some detailed quilting. I have recently started thinking about hand appliqueing the border, it just seems perfect for this quilt. That means it won't be done for quite awhile, and I am so anxious to have something to start quilting on. Last year I wanted to make my daughter a christmas quilt since it was her first year with her new husband. I was already working on a intricate quilt for my oldest son who had gotten married 9 months before her, so I knew it had to be an easy pattern. I found perfect fabrics, infact too many "perfect" fabrics, I ended up making two quilt tops and made it reversable. Why can't I seem to do something easy?

It isn't as much fun to take the easy route LOL
Sorry, but I am guilty of doing the same thing  :D:D:D |
I believe in doing what makes your heart sing. You are not alone!

For me, it depends who it is for and what I really want it to like. I have been guilty of doing the same thing...

It is just the Creative Genius in us as Quilters!! Every point has a silver lining!!

Don't feel guilty. It's what you feel drawn to do. It's your creativity coming out. Just do your best!

Personally, doing hexagons with small triangles on the side, doesn't sound like an "easy" project, one main reason I don't do hexagons. LOL

Me too !!! when I made a quilt for my son and DIL I chose tulip designs -- Roses would have been so mush easier to find. 48 different tulips??? took me 6 months to find. -- I like to be challenged !!! Good for you
