I still have not used my 400 yet to embroider anything. Anyone have any tips on this machine before I try it out? What type of thread did you use? Stablizer? Any tips would be greatly appreciated........Thank you, Michele

I had one of these and it was a good little machine. never had problems with it but I wanted to use bigger hoops so I got a used brothers 8500..but the 400 was a sweet machine.

I use dedicated embroidery thread eg R.A. or madeira it gives a beautiful sheen. Alweays use bobbin thread underneath unless the back will show. Your brother will then make fantastic embroideries that can complement your quilting beautifully.

I have one, you will have no problems if you just follow the instructions in the manual. It was amazing to me to watch it do the first couple of pieces.

If you're confident, just play with it and use the manual. If you're more of a visual learner, see if you can book some lessons with your Brother dealer. IMHO
