    I agree with Karenmay, I think it's a heavy cotton scrim, I have some old,old homemade curtains almost identical to yours. I still use mine on our french doors.

    I've mailed out several quilt mags and books lately and they all went media mail. It was cheaper than flat rate. Our PO also stamps it media mail even if I have fabric in with a mag or book.
