Yes. I love it. I was taught by my Grandmother. I work part time at a quilt shop in Missouri and we have a large hand embroidery clientel.

You should always measure across the middle of...
You should always measure across the middle of your quilt to get the length of your borders. Then if you need to ease a little to make it square, you can. Do this both vertically and horizontly.
