We live in Central Pennsylvania. The snow started about 9 a.m. and did not quit until 5 p.m. The snow was extremely heavy and wet and broke two limbs of our California Redwood and Tiger's Eye Pine (my two favorite trees in our yard). I had gone out with my broom and tried to knock or brush some off (22 trees), took be about 1-1/2 hour. (Unfortunately, DH had falled on Friday and has a badly sprained ankle. He is still hobbling.) I was soaked to the skin, could actually wring my gloves, my jeans soaked from jacket down. We were with power for five hours (no football, no quilting, no hot tea). We got about 8".

The bad thing about the weight of the snow, is that the trees have not dropped their leaves. Many of our farmers have corn standing waiting for the kernels to dry enough to be harvested (for animal feed). If taken in too soon they will mold. Today we are melting.
