I remember these Singer machines from when I was younger (in the fifties).
The name was an abbreviation of "Singer Manufacturing Company" "Si man co" hence "Simanco"
but were vary rarely called that as Singer was much easier to say. Besides "Singer Machines" had
such a brilliant name in the sewing world. Singer machines were the "The best of the best".
