even if i was to do a 3 color quilt, it would be 4 or 5 browns and a half dozen different reds and a big assortment of cream/ecru/beige.... the eye needs movement to appreciate each part of the canvas...if everything is exactly the same shade, it gets flat real quick... i use the same tones for many color choices, but many shades of the same tones...
