My record is the 1862 Grover & Baker Doublechainstitch machine trip.

We drove from San Lorenzo, California to Walla Walla Washington. almost 800 miles each way (we took 101 all the way to Portland then headed east) We drove there picked up the machine, chatted about an hour, had a sit down meal and then drove home.... LOOOONG weekend 36 hours total. But worth it for a Civil War era sewing machine. (not the one used as my avatar, that was a 20 minute drive each way)
