It all depends on what you are looking for in a quilting magazine. I am not one for patterns as so many can be found free on the net and I am usually able to figure out how to make a quilt that interest me by looking at a picture and with EQ you can pretty much design any quilt you like. I am interested in techniques and ideas for quilting not piecing so I subscribe to Machine quilting unlimited and I am also a member of AQS so get their magazine which focuses more on pictures of the winning quilts at their shows (Quiltweek events) as well as offering a couple of patterns and ideas for quilting. Membership also has other perks like discounted prices on fabric, books, kits, workshops offered at the shows as well as general admission and entry fee should you decide to enter a quilt in one of their shows. The magazines for both publications I mentioned are bi-monthly so only 6 times per year.
