I keep the fold in the binding secure by spritzing it with Best Press before ironing it in half ( a la Sharon Schamber). I then roll it up and put a rubber band around it. Per Schamber's method, I glue one side of the binding at a time with school glue, heat set and sew that, with the excess binding in the rubber band somewhere near where I'm stitching, so it doesn't drag.
