I wasn't searching for this but just came across a Rob Appell video ( think a new one) about binding. He winds the binding around an empty spool then puts the spool on a spool holder (the free-standing kind you might buy as an accessory to a machine). Sets the spool holder next to the machine, and away you go! Looks like a good idea for both storing the binding and feeding as you sew. Apologies if this idea already got mentioned in the thread.
