@Julienm1 Recommendation! ... Before you start cutting ....
... find a pattern that you want to make. If you have a humongous bunch of scraps, then choose two or three patterns. Ideally, all of the patterns need the same size of pieces, so that what you don't use in one, it's ready for the next!

There's no sense in cutting into 2.5" squares if your pattern(s) calls for 3"HSTs.
Or the pattern calls for 2.5" strips.
.... and so on for other shapes/sizes.
