Iceblossom, I also look for yardage when I'm thrifting. There is only one local church-sponsored store that has fabric consistently but it is mostly small bundles of remnants, not yardage. And it isn't always quilt-quality cotton. The other thrift stores are kind of hit-and-miss on yardage/remnants.
It has never occurred to me to use aprons! Great tip! Thanks!
