I gave up thrifting fabric some time ago. I used to go to the thrift stores. Now I can buy new fabric on sale for the same price as a quality man's shirt. Not many women's clothing in 100% cotton. The Hawaiian print shirts are usually very high priced. The cost of gas now, going to several garage sales around town to look for cotton clothing is not worth it. I do take fabric from the guild's free table to use if the color and print is what I like.
