    Purplepassion is right, I have sewn them wrong and believe me ripping is harder than pinning.

    My granddaughter bought a summer dress where the zipper is sewn on the outside of the dress. At first I thought it was a mistake, but the whole rack was that way----clerk said it's a new style to attract the young teenagers. Perhaps you can make a new trend.

    i agree with the rest- be glad you caught it before you sewed. my luck -i would've sewn a bunch before i realized it. just a comment-who told you the rail fence is a complex design? i think it is a very good beginner quilt. i would never call it a complex design,

    Probably a dumb question, but why do you pin the strips all together? If I think I really need to pin them, I just put one straight pin at the beginning of the strip and one at the end. Do you chain sew the strips?

    i have done that before and have sewn them together...well don't know what i was thinking..in a hurry i think. sew a little, rip alot...we all make mistakes just keep on sewing... :thumbup:
