    Bravo for you!
I donate various items plus cash donations to our local shelter.
Hadn't thought about making mats - they're on my list now!

I have found that among its other benefits, giving liberates the soul of the giver.

You know those dogs will be able to smell the love you put into those. It will bring them comfort.

The dogs will appreciate having somewhere warm to lay. I use to make crate pads, blankets, and cage covers for the humane society I fostered for. Scarves too.

I also make quilts for pets at the shelter. For the dogs I pick up flannel pillow cases at the thrift store, fill with my small scrap material, close at the end and sew around the edges. The lady at the shelter says they wash good and the dogs like them because they can dig up their laying spot.
For the cats I just make small quilts, for the cages that they are in, it also breaks my heart to see them, but aleast I know I'm helping.
Also some of them get to take their quilt home...

I think the dogs will love them, the fabric is not that bad, I've seen worse!!!! It will keep them warm.
