just a little. i have been using rowentas the last 25+ years. i wouldn't know what other type iron to purchase.

I haven't had much luck in using Rowentas but recently tried a Shark that I got from Bed, Bath & Beyon on desperation. IT'S A FANTASTIC STEAM PRODUCER and I've been using it for the past 6 months with no problems. I would use my previous Rowenta as a dry iron because they always leaked. But I do have friends that love theirs. Guess I got a few lemons.

I have had 3 Rowenta irons and the longest any of them lasted was about 1 year. I bought an inexpensive GE iron and I like it fine. I have had it over a year. Someone told me that if the Rowenta is made in Germany, they will last forever. I checked my last Rowenta as I still have it because it will work on occasion and it was made in China. Hope this helps.

I use an oreck. I had my first one for about ten years when it died and my husband bought me another one. He also found me a little Igia at a yard sale a while ago. I keep it by my sewing machine for quick pressing. It has great steam and gets real hot and very light weight.

Love my rowenta, just make sure it's made in germany before you buy one. I got mine from target 6 years ago, have never had a problem with it. It even has the automatic shut off, but it get super hot super fast
