Fusible on the back if possible and clear thread on the top to mend --------------friend did this and it didn't show.

I snipped the edge while adding the binding (I was trying to square up the top with my rotary cutter) and my repair was to applique with tiny hand stitching some of the same backing fabric over, using very tiny hidden stitches. Match the pattern as best you can.

It happened to me with a quilt that was a gift. It was a pale pink with tone on tone flowers. I just sew a triangle where the cut was. After ironing and quilting i couldn't see it anymore.
