The watermelon assortment will make a lovely baby/tot/child quilt.

They know that the baby is a girl and her name is going to be Natalie Renee.
I need to read more carefully, I missed the 'and her momma'.

Quilts are from the heart. Once it's cut, it should be really cute.

Babies love bright colors. Show us a picture when you finish! Can't wait to see it.

I think it's lovely! It will co-ordinate with all the pink that she is bound to attract - so it won't seem inappropriately adult when she's little - and yet she will be able to keep it, and keep on enjoying it, as she grows older.

It's a wonderful present to the young mum too ... whatever her decisions and her reasoning she has had a tought time already and will have more tough times to come and this is a practical yet beautiful gift for someone who is definitely now 'an adult' and starting out on her 'adult life' one way or another.

    Go for it!

I like the watermelon - looks like your colors will play well together and make a very happy quilt. The Ohio Rose quilt is beautiful!

I think your idea is perfect for a Baby Girl, bright fabrics will give her something to look at, in a few months or weeks.
I really love the the second one, love the pattern and colors.

It'd be interesting to see the watermelon as a OBW.

Since I live in NC, I will say that fabric is perfect for a new NC baby! Watermelon is a favorite sweet treat treat here, and I think any Mom would be happy with a watermelon quilt for her new baby girl!!
