    I too was taught by Dick and Jane :D :D :D That is one of the nicest Dick and Jane fabrics I have seen. Can't wait to see the quilt 8) 8) 8)

    Awwww my name sake. I even had a dog named spot when i was growing up. My best friend was Scottie tho but lost him to brain cancer when I was 6. Think of him often. Such memories Eddy thanks.

    What great memories!! I loved Dick and Jane, and Sally and Puff and Spot.....this is going to be a great wall hanging.

    LOL I love the fabric but I hated Sally. I had a tough time learning to read and Sally was on the book I wanted to be reading but was unable to. Darn that Sally anyway!!!

    It was John and Janet for me in the UK, but still gives you the warm fuzzy feelings thinking back like that. I actually didn't mind school in the early years, it was the last few I hated.

    Love the panel. Had not seen that one. There are alot of us out here who grew up on dick & jane I see. Such fond memories. Can't wait to see your creation with it.

    Perhaps W.Va. was a backward state. I entered first grade in 1940 and the books we used had been printed in 1930. Peter and Peggy were the main characters and of course Mother and Father, and later, Baby. They are worn from lots of use. I also used them to teach my children to read.

    Thanks for helping us to recollect our fond memories of the past.

    I think my class was one of the last to learn to read with Dick and Jane. I remember being so excited when I could read that I wanted to go to the kindergarten room to read to the "little kids"! Mrs. Webster actually let me!
