I LOVE the pale, subdued, subtle colours of the first one. I think we choose different colours in UK probably because our light is different. But the first one just looks so elegant to me.

I have read everyone's comments and all the suggestions would make GREAT quilts. BUT they would all be different..... Check with the recipient.

For the record IF I was adding another fabric, I would go with the softer pink. Of course, me being a scrappy queen, if I ever made a DWR every ring would probably be different!!!

    Hope this helps.

I like the first one myself, but look at it this way....it's not my quilt...lol! I'd check with the buyer myself if I were you as she is the one paying for it & it's more important that she have what she wants.

I would stay with the 'washed out' look. You will have a gorgeous quilt once quilted. Look for a design which fits the centers. Try it on one or more blocks to see how it looks. Are you going to quilt it yourself?

I wouldn't add another color without getting permission. The soft, washed out color may be exactly what she wants. If you do decide you have to change to something else, please use the softer grayed rose. The darker one is too jarring. It doesn't keep the washed out color scheme at all. Your original colors are beautiful - just not bright or with contrast.

I don't think I would change anything unless you review it with the recipient. I like the soft look of the original and I think the quilting will liven it up.

LOVE the first one, so soft and antique looking, it just speaks comfort to me!
