Really nice quilt! I bought spring-back scissors specifically for making rag quilts. They take so much pressure off of my poor old hands!

I have the spring loaded scissors and that's the only reason my hand has not required a replacement! It's starting to losen up three days later! :-) Thanks for all the encouraging words...my sisters and mom have come over and eyed this longingly so I think I'll have to staple it to the chair or something...either that or make them their own, and let them clip it their darn selves! :-)

That is gorgeous, I always wanted to make one. Went to a yard sale about a year ago, and the lady gave each customer a bag to fill it with whatever we wanted for $10. I brought all jeans. I came home with more than 15 pairs of jeans just for this purpose, but needless to say the girls and grands took most of them to wear. Oh well, maybe one day.

Love the quilt. I am planning on having my GD and N over when school is out to make a jeans rag for family picnics. They can cut and sew on the back porch all summer long. THEIR hands will hurt not mine.

OMG I love this quilt what a great job you did. I have 4 boxes of jeans cut up ready to do the same thing~a rag jean quilt for my son. The jeans have been sitting here for 2 years. This is really what I needed to see to get me going. Thanks for sharing and the inspiration to get me going~Suz

Wow, this turned out real nice. I like it!!! What a lot of work you've put into it. I was just given some jeans bits and pieces of material, I already have got an idea for a quilt but I'm surely not going down the track of making it into a rag quilt, wouldn't have the nerv for it.

I enjoyed this so much. I have made many jeans quilts with lightweight batting and cotton backing. My kids and grandkids love them...they are very very heavy, but their favorite thing when they are sick. Mine always turn out large too; queen or king size. I have always wanted to do one like yours but don't know how. Can you help me? I have a lot of blocks already cut out; 7" I think. I loved your story. Sounds so much like me. Great job!!
