After getting a new TV I had a huge bare wall in my living room. Because I live alone I though to put a whole display area there for ALL the DJ blocks. I had been using a corner area but wanted to see all of them:

I hemmed, I hawed and then my younger DD came and off we went to Home Depot for (2) 4 x 8 foam boards and put them on the wall. OOOH, was that the right thing to do??
We started pinning and I've not finished yet since she's gone.

My D-D-D-DGS 12 yr old was reading in the recliner and then I saw him gazing like daydreaming straight ahead so I asked him "Whatcha looking at, Bub?" He said, "Nana, I love your quilt. Its like looking at the clouds in the sky. You see so many different things." I asked him to tell me about one and he chose A10:

and said, "It looks like the Blue Angels flying off in 4 different directions... But I have too many favorites to pick just one."

*Sniff, sniff* Yep, I surely did the right thing!

Wow! Looks great!!! How did you fasten the boards to the wall?

Well, that's a story in itself! Being a "trailer" home the walls are vinyl covered sheetrock and there is a chair rail which I should have removed! (That remark is for my DD) Anyway we tried hot glue, we tried tacking nails, we tried mirror hangers then I went for my old tried and true favorite - the sticky strips that you use for the "Command" type wall hangers. The panels are so very light (1/4").

BTW the quilt will go right down almost to the floor!

Even though the chair rail may feel as if it's in the way, it is supporting the boards and will keep old gravity from pulling against the Command strips. The boards may be light but while your pinning the rails will help. It looks great and what a sweet thoughtful GS.
