Has been many, many years since I saw a cotton gin......thanks for the memories. It was a lot different when we were picking cotton and taking to the gin. They used to give you a gold rimmed plate for using their gin.

Oh my goodness, that makes my back hurt!! We grew cotton until 1959, and since there were 7 children, we worked our own fields...glad I ha the experience but don't want to do it again! LOL

been there, did that,$3/day for chopping and $2/100 lbs for picking. Sun up to sun down. burning hot sun, The shade tree was always a mile away. I think it made me what I am today. so I don't have to do it again.Our farm went from cotton to sheep to dairy. Boy have tech come a long ways
