Teri, I have a little Brother that I used for quite a while when I started back with quilting. I used it for 3 years before I got my Babylock. I use it in the RV when we travel, and I love to sew on it!

I purchased a simple Janome machine for the Grands to sew on..they love it..and I enjoy taking it to sitnsews as it's so light. Really has a nice stitch even though I can't adjust stitch length...so we are only smiling...not laughing...

I have a Janome Gem Gold that is all I was sewing on for a couple of years when I started to do a portrait quilt and needed a machine that I could adjust the stitch length and stop in the needle down position. So I bought a Brother CS6000i based on the reviews online and because it was relatively inexpensive. So no laughing here! I hope someday to get a nicer machine but I am having fun on this one for now!

Welcome JaneH! Glad to have you aboard this ride... Don't worry about when to start..
Pam,I kind of collect machines and cleaned one of those a couple of months ago..It runs very smooth and quiet...Japan made machines are generally very good...

I just discovered you ladies today. I've ordered my book, in hopes it will get here by the 4 th. My friend will be doing it with me. I have the original FW book and was actually going to that one in 1930s.
