I am loving seeing the new Boom's fabrics and hearing the motivations for the quilts. I am so tempted to jump in but I really can't this time of the year. I'm not retired, yet! But it is good seeing everyone gather and share their fabrics before the sign up is officially over. There are going to be some great quilt blocks made in this boom!
To any newbies lurking in the BOOM orbit, you should really jump in feet first if you have the time. It is really fun to tap into your creative energies for other people. Figuring out that perfect block for the fabrics and requests is half the fun. The other half is the challenge behind making the block you picked. And wait until you get all the blocks the group makes for you! It will blow you away!

Good evening! I’ve had two suggestions for a group name, Wrens and Bloom. I like each equally so DH picked a name from a hat and we’re Bloom. I’m sure there will be plays on the name but my favorite will likely be “Bloomers”!
I cut up my F8s tonight and cannot locate my little baggies so I guess I’ll grab my labels and start afresh. I know once I make them, the old baggies will pop up. lol.
Remember, as you cut your fabrics, you will be sending me 19, regardless of how many swappers we have. We’ll do just fine with a small number of swappers but I’m hoping for at least a couple last minute additions.
I’m off to rest. Have a good night Bloomers! I couldn’t resist.

In 2021, her family was hit hard with COVID and were all hospitalized. Judy shared a room with her 29-year-old son Caleb. Tragically, his lungs collapsed, and he passed away. He left behind his wife and two beautiful little girls, just 3 years old and 2 months old at the time.
Judy then suffered a major stroke. She was hospitalized for months. What she has walked through since then has not been easy, but she has fought her way back. Step by step, word by word, she has regained her speech and her ability to walk. She is truly a testament of grace, strength, and unwavering faith… a warrior in every sense of the word.
This quilt is being made especially for her. 💖
Thank you so much for being part of something so meaningful. I can’t wait to see your beautiful block and all the love that goes into it. 🧵✨
Thank you for sharing this story. I love the block construction and knowing I can put a little love into each one is special.Originally Posted by hav4boys

I think bloomers is a hoot!
HAV it will be an honor to make a block for Judy.
Drove to Mexico this morning for another dentist visit, we have one more next week and will be completely finished for this year.. heard the estimate on a set of dentures and thought to myself if I had gone that route it would have been so much more financially sensible and I would be done with this malarkey.
The parks are clearing out fast here. Many of the folks want to be home for Easter, we prefer to stay as long as feasible. If It was up to me we would stay till early May but dh wants to get back and get the boar out of storage etc.
Me fat 1/8 th’s are packaged but need some more labels with my name on it. Then I will be totally read

I sent my confirmation in, I fell in love with Hav's pretty polka dots and decided I wanted to play with that enough to join! Now I need to get started on cutting some of my own fabric... Looking forward to the exchange!

Good morning everyone. Glad to see some of the earlier boomers coming back! I look forward to playing with all the lovely fabrics and seeing the creativity.
Hav4boys - best wishes for your friend. I hope our efforts will help her feel better. If you remember, the group helped me make two wonderful nautical lap quilts for my friend undergoing chemo. We didn't expect him to make it. All the love and prayers and good energy must have helped him recover because he is still here. On oxygen, but still moving around. So thanks again, everyone!
It's a beautiful day today in LA. That's Lower Alabama, y'all. Clear and cool. There must be a fishing competition going on the lake. Yesterday the dogs watched many boaters in the slough. They' were racing outside at 0630 to bark at some more fishermen. The bulldog has found some fish guts or sewage to roll in. Yuck!
Hubby and I have some traveling to do. We replaced our 2018 Prius with a slightly larger RAV4. The RAV can carry his powered wheelchair or scooter where the Prius can't. So we are passing the Prius down to my son in Arkansas. I may be off the board for a week. Got to have at least SOME time with the grandchild!
Ok. Gotta pack up stuff. Everyone, take care and travel safely!

P.S. The gator is back. Don't think the fishermen will have much luck. 😄
