I wasn't gone too long...2 hours. When I came home I went in one door and they went out another. Thank goodness I wasn't gone longer! What did they take? My quilt top!, and the other quilt on the bed, computer monitor, electric tooth brush, bottle of soft soap, camera, watch and few other things. They had other things boxed up ready to go out. I know what you mean...work on making a quilt and it disappear...the time...the money...the thought of sharing it with someone you love...
OMG! Thankful they ran and you didn't get hurt. My car was broken into last yr and DD's purse was stolen. Thank goodness the house hadn't been left empty and when she got home the next day I immediately got new locks and changed all. So scary.

Sometimes the delivery is made to the wrong address by mistake. That has happened to me when the address was close in name or the wrong street number. You might have her check with the neighbors.

Sorry to hear about your quilt missing. Hopefully it will turn up in a couple of days. I was wondering how much you insured it for, and how difficult will it be to get paid for a quilt.

Inquiring minds want to know.
Unless you have a written appraisal, they will only pay off based on whatever receipts you have. Always keep a picture of your quilt and the receipts for the fabrics. Or pay approximately $20 to have it appraised before shipping ... if this matters to you. For instance, if you used scrap fabrics, you really don't have many receipts and the only way you could show the value would be with a written appraisal.

I am so sorry. My niece just passed away from breast cancer, leaving a young girl. I'd be devastated if I made her a quilt and someone took it. Certainly hope whoever took it has a conscience.

I agree. I'm in the "rot in hell" group. I hope that maybe their conscious gets the better of them & they return it.
I will be praying for your cousin in a speedy recovery from surgery & an easy time going through chemo.

I hope who ever did this gets their just do. That is do wrong. I hope that she recovers and kicks that cancer's butt!

One of my friends is being put in hospice, the spinal cancer spread to his brain. I made him a quilt with all of his friends pictures on it so he knows we are with him in his struggle.

Prayers going to you and your cousin.

I am so sorry that someone found it in their heart or lack of one to steal a box of anything! I would be sick to my stomach. To work on something special for someone and then to have it stolen is just not right.

Ultimately, this whole fiasco is my fault because I sent the package to the wrong address based on wrong information that I received.

Guess I'm the one who will rot in hell.

My thanks to all of you.
Don't be so hard on yourself. We all have done or said inappropriate things. The beauty of forgiveness is awesome. You are in my prayers, for the quilt getting to where it was intended and full health of your family member
