I just posted the bed runner I just finished under: bed runner for mom-have a look.

I have a yo-yo bed runner in the works, Nancy's Notions booklet, the pattern is Grandmothers Flower Garden, trimmed in white - I love it, making yo-yo's travels well, easy to transport and put together when you have collected some.

I made a bed runner and love it. I plan on making several so that I can "redecorate easily".

I haven't made any, but saw one
somewhere a couple of days ago
(on the internet). It gave me an
idea to use up some scraps.

I have seen them for years, especially while living in England. I keep meaning to make one and then forget. I will write myself a note-something we old folks have to do!

I don't know what the purpose is, but it seems we all have found our own purpose. I can relate to the person who likes extra weight or warmth over the feet. I fold a lap quilt over only my feet because I like the extra weight. I can see where a bed runner would be nice there. Also over the pillows instead of a set of shams.

That is part of it. I usually use a comforter that it white. The bed runner adds a nice accent with less work than a quilt. Somehow it seems the quilts I make always wind up on someone else's bed.

I'm responding to your picture. I have a Boston who is 8 years old. I never had one before, but I love her so much it hurts. Those are the cutest puppies I've ever seen.

I have one of the books, but have had so many other projects going that it will be 2011 before I get one done. Have one that will be of Wild Cats trimmed in black for my sister. I really like the idea of a little extra color without the whole quilt.

I haven't done one as yet but the December's issue of Quilters' World has a pattern in it for the holidays...really quite nice.

It is in the Christmas colors but could very easily be made in any fabrics.

    On my list !!!!!
