I have one for many years. I don't use it all the time, but it certainly is good for stews, soups and such. I belong to allrecipies.com and there are lots of recipies there. Don't be afraid. The new ones are very safe. There are relief valve and all sorts of safeguards.
It is a great way to get a meal on the table when you are in a rush.

I use the old Presto and new one I bought from QVC. Love them. Have used them for years.

I have one and really find it to be a time saver. You will get an instruction book with easy receipes. I grew up with my Mother using a large one to can and a smaller one to cook with. I would advise you to buy a new one if possible, that way the gasket and all parts are good and you shouldn't have any trouble.

I was raised using them from makingg dinner to canning in the fall. As with all kichen equipment READ the directions and FOLLOW them.They are no more dangeras than any other electrical appliance. I trust my pressure cooker more than I do my microwave!

Have the same one for 55 years.. Love it and use it all the time.. Try artichokes in it.. yummy...

The electric pressure cookers do not blow! Make sure it is
on the count down time before you go out side and it will do great, even keeps warm for a long time. Mine even cooks jubilee rice in 20 minutes. It takes 40 min, on top of the stove.
