    I find it amazing to see what colors "speak" to people. I like a variety of things but tend towards Jewel tones and I LOVE orientals. Pastels and brights are generally not my thing. Alrhough sometimes I find a particular fabric that's interesting to me and I build around it. Batiks look...I don't know scrambled and muddy to me unless they are shades of 1 color and then I can use another blender just as well. But I know people love them and I have seen some beautiful batik quilts here.

    For some reason I am loving black, white and red quilts that are popular now and it's on my list of to dos. I am trying to use colors I am not generally drawn to just to stretch my designing a bit. My bright chicken blocks have been fun to design but we will see if the resulting quilt actually lives at my house lol.

    me, too, I wouldn't necessarily have put those colors together, but they work beautifully. I'm glad you kept at if for her. She'll love it!

    Your quilting is great. Anytime you want to practice your machine quilting, let me know. I have a few tops I'd love you to "ruin". Your quilt is beautiful.

    Oh wow! It's a perfectly lovely quilt. I can't believe you did all that quilting and it was your first try. I could NEVER have been able to do that on a domestic machine................it's huge!! Vey nice job!

    jackie - i did it on a longarm. i have the tin lizzie and the hintenberg (sp) frame. it was the first planned-out quilting and the first feathers and stipples. don't worry. i won't put you out of business. :lol: so hold on to your customer list! LOL! thanks for the encouragement.
