For what you had to work with, you did an amazing job. You win the prize on creative use of an extremely unique collection of fabric! Can't believe you got the bluish-green fabric and olive green fabric to work together in the same quilt. And your use of the red to frame it out...good choice. Now, with some quilting, it will be even better.

Mmmmm. Well, you did a good job putting it together. Maybe with cataracts it would blend better? I just had my second eye done two days ago, and my eyes are very sensitive. LOL. What we do for love, eh?

this is where i got the pattern from. i used 5 strips and when i put them right sides facing to sew them together all the way around before you cut them on the diagonal, i made sure that the red fabric was on the top on the piece facing up and the strips were horizontal; the one i laid on top of it i made sure the strips were vertical and the red was on the left so the placement was the same throughout. i actually really did like the way the pattern came together; there were 3 different ways i contemplated on putting them all together. i put the sashing between them so i wouldn't have to line up so many seams!
the laughs and giggles from reading all of your posts and the heart warming comments have made me feel so good. thank you all so much for the beautiful words. the fabric owner has become a very close friend of mine and i just cherish her! she has such a warm heart from the Lord and she will be wondering about payback for a long long time!
