This quilt measures 27" X 32" and is the result of the "Black & White Plus 10" challenge. All fabric used was to be only black and white with not more than 10% of another color. What fun!

The sky is fabric. It is a small black and white print. Since I couldn't use gray to depict the cloudy, gray day, I chose the small print to show as gray. I'm so glad you like it!Originally Posted by mjmachin
Being from the Midwest "farm country" with lots of snow, you know I love love love this!! So glad you won an award as your workmanship is outstanding. What did you use for the sky background....is it the fabric I am seeing or the quilting that makes the snow falling? And the plants by the building.....amazing!! This is so simple, and yet so complex!! You are very talented. Thanks so much for sharing.

Mamia.....the sky is quilted with monofilament thread so as not to make the sky either lighter or darker. The sky background is a very small black and white printed fabric! I struggled on how to depict a gray sky!Originally Posted by Mamia
Love this art piece. Great job. The black and white with a touch of red makes this quilt. Love the idea of using the black thread in the sky background.
