Here is the flimsy I finished on Sunday. Went really scrappy except for the stars. I really liked the ones that were all different colors but that would have been a lot of figuring for me to get all the points the right colors so I just went with all one color. Now to decide how to quilt it. Was thinking of tying it.

I added 3 more blocks, then did the border. I just love the pattern and I just did it totally scraps. next time I will do it more controlled. Today I cleaned up my sewing room and sorted all my scraps ready for the #9. Thank you JUDY and thank you KASSAUNDRA too for telling me a different way to QAYG. I'm going to try it on my Block of the months.

Default Piano Keys Tutorial

Well I finally finished this last night after midnight and I was just too tired to do the posting so here it is this morning. I had planned on doing the piano keys right from the start due to having so many fat quarters from working on my "Dear Jane" and I thought I would give a little tutorial if anyone else would care to do this. For mine, I cut 100 2-1/2 x 5 strips of border fabric and 16 2-3/4 for the corner pieces. On every strip that was adjacent to the star block above (it was every 7th strip on mine) I would put a 2-1/2 x 2-1/2 block of star fabric and draw a diagonal line and sew it to finish the top of the strip so it finishes the bottom point of the star. If anyone does not understand that part, you can pm and I will gladly walk you through it. Just remember to put a diagonal block on the strip under the star block above and you should be okay. The corner pieces are just four patches of the dominant color of your quilt. I was really pleased how it turned out and I have enjoyed everyone's quilts.

I love the quilt & the borders. Does anyone know when the next mystery quilt starts?

They are all looking wonderful. Mine is still hanging on wall, un sewn, deciding if I want to make 3 more blocks to make it bigger. Best get on it this week & finish it, (I'll post pic then) because next week I have cataract surgery so might be out of sewing business for a few. Also anxious to see what the next mystery one will be. One design, so many finishes. Sew on!

Oopsie, Kmeyer! Did you notice on that last pic one of your points is going the wrong way? Your quilt is lovely. Your tutorial is too late for me but hopefully it will help others. I cut my strips at 6 1/2.
Great finishes dd and m-fay!

Pam H, thank you for noticing that. I worked so hard to finish it, I missed that one. I will correct it before I have Hubby quilt it.
