I am finding it hard to not envy you ladies with granddaughters who will come and play quilts with you. I would absolutely LOVE that. She is really a sweetheart and so pretty, and did a fantastic job on the quilt. A real "pro" and so young. Glad she is getting an early start, and that you two have this loving relationship. What a wonderful Grandmother you are to teach her at a young age. She did a wonderful job. This will stay with her forever. :-)

I'm sorrty but there's really no pattern. We just cut blocks from an assortment of red, white and blue squares--5 1/2 inches--then arranged them, and she sewed them together and pressed them. It needed borders so, back to the stash. For those of you who may be teaching a child to quilt, this was all about NOT taking short cuts. She measured the sewed-together blocks across the center to determine the length of her borders and pinned everything to be sure it would all fit. She thought it was a lot of trouble but was pleased as punch when everything ft together the way it was supposed to and the quilt was square and flat.
