OK ladies you talked me into it, have to do some web site searching, and reading to get myself prepared for the pp, but am 1 step ahead I do have my add a ruler already and my book is ordered and have more 30 fabrics then I know what to do with after participating in the WVa shop hop last summer where 30's was their choose of fabric that year and really have alot more after my mom's recent passing and she also was a hopper that summer to. Our motto was always the one with the most fabric wins. I am sure that I will have alot of questions along the way, but I can tell already that I will meet alot of new quilting sisters doing this with you. Thanks everyone for the encouragement to get me going.

Hi Teri, I'm originally from Passaic then moved to Garfield then to Freehold for the last 46 years..I have family in Oak Ridge and Do visit the "North" end of the state several times a year..Freehold is about 20 miles west of Asbury Park & 28 miles north west of Seaside Heights where I spent a lot of summers with Aunts & Uncles that had bungalows there..When you plan a trip to the "shore" maybe we could meet & talk technique about pping.

    Glad to have you aboard...

Welcome aboard, Teri Lynn. I'm anxious to see all the blocks done in 1930s prints; I've never used them so I'll learn a lot from yinz for a future project.

Huskyquilter, you asked about bulky centers. Here's how I deal with them. I sew my sections together then remove the paper in the seam allowance and press the seam open. It takes some fiddling around with the center and sometimes I'll spritz a little water on it, hold the point of my iron on it and swear at it. I use 1/4" seams because the 1/8" seam didn't allow for pressing open.

Ha! Swearing, I've tried that, didn't seem to help, but my pup came and rested his head on my lap. I'll try removing the paper from the seam allowance. That seemed to be a major part of the bulk.

I bought my solid color 30"s last night and just received an email that they have been sent off. With it was a tracking #. I found the 30's on a Etsy sight.
Also got a notice that my book has been mailed and the tracking # shows that I should get it today.
Everything is coming together so nicely. Now to look up the date we are supposed to start this!

I think I'm going to deviate from the 30s theme fabric a bit. I do have some, but I don't want to buy a whole lot so I'll have to figure out how to work it in but also pull from what i have. I have the paper piecing template ready for the first two. Need to get busy getting the rest ready. I love that the block diagram is white, so many possibilities.

Thanks for your input on the add-a-seam rulers. I'll keep my 1/8" tucked away and use the 1/4" one!

Husky, I'm going to be all over the place with my fabric too as I'm trying to use what I already have and don't want to put them together into a single quilt. My plan is to just make the blocks and then figure out what to do with them. I'm really wanting to just increase my skill and decrease my stash!
