I wish I had my mom to quilt with. While you are with your family quilting, it would be a good idea to get those favorite family recipes and to find out as much as you can about your ancestors. Great conversations and things you can pass to your children.

Well, actually, I quilt with my husband's cousin and his sister
sometimes, it is hard for us to get together, but I try and use
the days I am off work and we get together. I have a small
quilt group, and we meet once a month. But that has dwindled
sadly, I am trying to get them back interested in some project
but people are doing their own thing, and we do show and tell
alot, which is very inspirational. I love working together with
another, it just is exciting!!! Also, going on my first quilt
    retreat, and I can't wait.

Just me. Mom passed away years ago & my sister don't know what a needle is.

Just me. Mom passed away years ago & my sister don't know what a needle is let alone use it.

That's why I'm teaching my three granddaughters--I like the company and I love the idea of passing on the tradition.

Ask your friends if they know anyone who quilts and start a quilting family.Quilting families don't have to be your relatives.
I have a friend who has joined my Quilting family, not by blood or marriage, but by the sheer enjoyment of making quilts.

I wish! Although I did get into quilting because of my Mother - she was a hand applique quilter extraordinaire and I really enjoyed talking quilting with her. She has died though so I go to the occasional class to be with other quilters.

Just me in my family. My great grandmother did...but she passed away before I was born. That really sounds like a lot of fun. I wish I knew some quilters.
