More opinions needed on the basket quilt

I really like your eye for the colors - however, the intensity is almost clashing - the baskets are too muted for the depth of orange and the accompanying print. That being said, what is the purpose for the quilt? If you are looking for a bright quilt with an orange emphasis, this would work. If you are looking for an emphasis on the baskets, then this bright orange and the bright floral is going to be a detraction. Just some thoughts . . . .

I agree with your suggestion that the sashing is overpowering for your quilt. Perhaps you could cut the sashing in half and use it to frame strips made out of the same material as the tan colour in your baskets? It means your 3 strips will have to be cut so they come to the same measurement as your present sashing (or change the measurement if you desire). However, making less of the orange so that it is an accent and not dominating, should do the trick. Please give us a look at the finished result.

I had a friend who was a painter and a quilter. Jan always said for best results pick a color that is not used much(as in the border fabric) and use that for the frame. This is what you have done so excelently and I think it really "works". It does set your baskets apart and shows them off more. Marvel
