I have 4, all including the fabric already cut out included in the package.
3 I got when my husband's grandmother died a few months after our wedding (29 years ago) and no one else had any interest in them. They are a Trip Around the Worl, a Lone Star, and a baby Dresdan Plate.
When we visited the Amish area of Eastern Ohio, I purchased a quilt kit that will end up looking similar to an American flag

I suspect the first 3 will just be passed on to my kids when I die. How convenient I have 3 kids!

I have two. Kits seem expensive to me, and I worry that they won't contain enough fabric. I've heard of this happening. So, unless it's something really special, I would rather just buy the pattern and my own fabric.

One, and I'm working on it right now. I prefer selecting my fabrics myself and maybe changing things around a little when I'm working with a pattern. 8-)

I don't collect kits but I do put together my own. I have them in project bags or boxes. My problem is that I put them together with every intention of working on it and then I get sidetracked and start something new. I see something here that I like or take on a class and before I know it I've added another project. I keep thinking I'll get to each one but so far they just seem to be multiplying when I'm not looking.

The kits or the quilts (to the 3 kids)?

3 from Connecting Threads. One English paper piecing that I have learned, one as a gift in an exchange with my quilt group, and one that I bought with the $50 gift certificate from Connecting Threads for sharing with friends that their cotton used in their fabrics is now grown in the U.S.A. I love their fabrics and also use their threads.
