Honchey - you and I are at the same place. I have cut out my sashing - it's going to be scrappy though. Maybe I can at least finish the top within the next two weeks
BettyB - love your top! Nice colors!!
    Caroline - that's a winner, too!
Redtop - like the way the green sets everything in a calm state

I've been watching all the action on Train Ride #9. I think I can find more scrapes for that one; just need to find the time . . . we all know how that goes!

How far apart are you tying this quilt? I've never done one before..

Thanks girls my quilt has more color than the pictures. The stars are yellow and the green is more vivid. It is thimbleberries fabrics. I would love to make a brighter colored quilt using this pattern. Judy outdid herself this time. Love her mysteries!!

It depends on your batting. Kinda like pinning for basting. If I can fit my hand between then it needs more ties. I have tied all the points, center of the large triangle, center of the stars and a couple times in the borders. I haven't done a lot and not for a long time so I hope I'm doing it right.lol

I do similar rule of thumb like dd. I usually go by the block design also.

I'm tying quilts for a local woman too. She said when she entered it in the fair last year they put a note on the back of her tag. They said knots should be no more than 4" apart. I told her that was pretty much the rule. I just go by my hand. It's easier than getting out a ruler. The knots are sewed on my quilt I just need to cut the strings between and actually tie the knots. Lion's barter night is 11th so it will be done by then.

I vote blue for the sashing because if you use it for the stars it will be 'lost' next to some of the big triangles...that is just my vote
