If anyone spots an error, please let me know. Anyone else wishing to join the 3 month group, there is a single spot open so please speak up. Should the group fill, I will take names on a waiting list in case we have a drop. It happens sometimes. In the event we get a lot of names, I will open a second 3 month group but that doesn't seem a likely scenario.

Thank you to everyone who signed up! Please everyone, follow along on this thread to see additional tips and info. Make sure you All understand that while this is meant to be a lot of fun and is an opportunity to meet new people, show off your skills a bit, maybe learn something new, I take it very seriously. Please review post #1 on this thread and be sure you have the time and commitment to follow through once the swap actually begins. Until that time, you are free to withdraw, no problems. Once the Boom starts, if you don't complete the swap, feedback to reflect that will be given. For newbies, this is important, the dates shown on the sign-up thread will be that dates f8s and blocks should be IN MY HANDS, not your mailing dates. Again, just review the post and ask questions if you have any. Everyone who's completed a couple of Booms can tell you as well as I can how things work so if I don't answer a question right away, one of the veteran Boomers will likely have your answer.

So, that's it for now. I expect we'll fill the remaining slot in the three month group. We'll see what happens with the two month group. Sign-ups remain open until late June 30th.

    Thank you to everyone!

I see at least 7 new names in our group... (unless they are old-time boomers, coming back.) So excited to have some new friends playing with us!

Janice, will you fill that 20th spot if no one else does?

Here's a tip for our newbies: Get a 12.5" square ruler, if you don't already have one. It makes it easy to check to see if your finished blocks are the perfect size or need some tweaking. I lay my ruler on top of my block and if the block is too big, I take in a few seams. If it's too small, I let out some seams just a hair, until my block reaches size.

Thanks for the welcome everyone! I noticed that several people have pictures of more than one fabric for each swap. Am I to send in more than one print for each person on my list? Want to make sure I understand the rules.

If everyone gets their fabric sent before the deadline, do we get if back sooner? Too anxious here! Haven't done a swap in years due to lack of time (single mom of 3). Last child moved out last fall so I'm ready to have some fun.

Marlena, you only need one F8 for each person. Some boomers want a more controlled look to their blocks so will send 2 fabrics and request only one additional color to be used (or only those two fabrics be used). If that is done only one has to be a full F8 the other can be less then a full F8.

Oh, Joanelizbay, you have to know I'm sooo tempted, especially when there's only one place left but I think I'm going to sit this one out! If the space remains vacant for a few days, I might snag it. I would love to see the group totally full though. Of course, there is room in the 2 month so I might just sneak in there, just never know.

Great question, Marlenab. Kass correctly explained the use of multiple fabrics. You can send anything you'd like as long as at least one piece is a full F8. And for newbies, that's a Fat eighth, approx 11x18, Not an eighth which is 9x22. It wouldn't seem like it makes much of a difference, but it does and we use Fat 8ths almost exclusively.

Also, reminder, we generally keep the remnants of the F8s we receive after we use it to make a block for you.

And as far as getting your package of F8s with which to make blocks earlier, yes, if your entire group has sent me their F8s, I will sort them and ship early. With 20 people, that might be a stretch, but it can happen. Same with completed blocks. If all of your group gets their completed blocks in early, I will ship them back to you early.

    Hope that helps.

Okay, I have a question. Since I am making a snack quilt and a fruit quilt I want to understand what I need to send.

On the snack quilt, the colors I want used are in the macaroon piece. So do I send the snack material at the f8 and then send a small piece of the macaroon so everyone knows what colors to use in the block with the snack fabric they receive?

On the fruit quilt, I am thinking greens and black... any suggestions? The materials are lemons, raspberries, blue berries, strawberries. I am a bit stumped with this one. Any suggestions help.

4boys, several have included a small swatch of fabric to give a color idea of what color you are really wanting. I have also sent a part of a paint chip in the color I wanted. I think it is especially helpful in colors that have several names
