Totally addicted to purchasing machines.....Believe I have 6 or 7....hubby just seen my newest one (thought I could out wit him hiding it amongst the others). All my machines are set up for different sewing. I think I knew where I can get another one out of an estate that no one wants and if I do go get it, I may donate it to the church for quilting day..."maybe" :) Is there something wrong with us? No said another lady....men have more than one kind of tools in their work shop (last I counted 12 tape measures). They do, don't they "help" me here that I am correct or someone is going to think that there is something "nutty" about me when I get another machine. Tell my kids that I am spending their inheritance :0

No. i sew dailt on a Janome, i have a Juke on my quilt frame, a brother and singer to take to classes, a bother embrodery machine, a surger and finally my own and my mothers 21st birthday sewing machines. I'm 60 so think how old one is. All get used at different times the birthday present ones are heavy to carry long distances. Are we all made? if si I don't care because I'm the happiest and most content I have ever been.

I just have one so far, but would like to have an embroidery machine to make some fancy designs. But since I just got started, I don't think I will mention it quite yet.

Don't think I can exceed her work! It is a Bernina, #823 or something. Does that sound right...it's from the 70's too. Called "the workhorse," I think. IT'S HERE...She's here! My sister-n-law brought my BELOVED mother-n-law's Bernina tonight. I started reading thru the book till too tired. About to head to bed, but wanted to tell you folks. I am so happy!!!

I have five, but actually only use two. They are both Janomes and both stay set up on my sewing table all the time.
    The other three are:
an ancient treadle machine that came over from Germany after the 2nd WW with my daughter's MIL. When she passed away my daughter gave it to me.
another very old machine, a Singer, that came over the same way, during the same time period. It belonged to my FIL who was a tailor in Germany before the war.
a 30 year old Kenmore that DH bought me the first year we were married.
and a 60s Singer that I inherited from an aunt. It has all those funny looking things that were used for embroidery. I don't use this one either, but I'm told it works fine. 8-)
