I am doing my own quilting and qayg, and am HORRIBLE at quilting. I had found a cool sun pattern I was thinking about but am likely going to just do simple grid so I don't ruin it after all this work.

I went thru all the instructions and wrote down what I needed to cut for each fabric and whether it could be assorted or matching. Still cut too many strips for some as I forgot I'd already cut them so now I'm just about done with cutting for #1, #5 is done and I cut the neutral 2 x 4.5 before I realized I could save fabric using the Easy Angle. Will use it for the reds and the grey sections for those steps as I don't know if I'll have enough grey to go around though I should even with the 2 extra rows added. Have 40 HST on #1 sewn and 330 out of 360 cut out. Will finish cutting them tonight before I hit the sack. Tomorrow I'll continue sewing the HSTs while my quilt machine is doing the block patterns. Its nice having a robotic system as I can work on 2 things at once. Also keeps me walking back and forth so I don't get stoved up from standing in one place.
This is my 1st mystery ever though not my 1st Bonnie Hunter pattern.

For me I far prefer a pattern (hand or machine) than no pattern. I see my quilts from many different angles, and I enjoy the play of light and dark that the quilting itself provides from the angles when I don't see the patchwork pattern

It really doesn't matter a whit what anyone else likes...unless you are quilting for competition. Then everything matters!
got all my sashing and corner stones on today, now I'm making sheets of strings for one of the borders. And listening to New Tricks. Life is good

This is my first BH mystery... thankfully I am finally done with clue 4 and now working on clue 5... I just printed clue 6 so I cut my 50 - 4 1/2" squares (30 gold and 20 red) today. This has been a big challenge for me and I'm grateful for all of the things I've learned... that said, I don't think I'd start another challenge such as this one right around the holidays. Miss Rita, your blocks look wonderful. All participants have done such a great job and I've enjoyed those who did other colors as well.

First row together! I just love these block designs and the setting unit. I experimented with borders today, and I've pretty much decided to go with the gold and black as in the reveal, but I'll make the black a bit wider, and I don't think I'll scallop the border.
