The regular instructions do seem to be incorrect... I haven't seen a correction by Bonnie yet. For those of us using squares, it isn't much of an issue. For you strip type triangle piecers it might be a greater thing. It is in the Traditional Instructions at the top right side of page 1 of the PDF.
Was a simple mistake, we cut large squares into 4 sections to make the large geese, that makes a certain number of units which is correct (as are the numbers just before the Traditional section), those are the numbers of units and sizes you need to make.
We need the same number of squares for the little triangle wings as we have units of the goose. She tells us to cut the correct number of little squares, just didn't multiply the number when dividing the square into two pieces... not a big issue.

Looking great Sinc! Beautiful colors! I am doing half of the units - don't need any more big quilts! I have finished the hourglass units and have half of the flying geeze units cut out. I did two flying geese using the Essential Triagle Ruler technique and they came out nearly perfect, just very slight trimming needed!

I didn't quite make my goal for yesterday which was to finish the pink/neutral geese. I do have about half complete (except for trimming) and then I have the remainders ready to go with the appropriate number of small triangles.
I want to get those done today, plus cut the purple. The neutrals are already cut for today (while I was cutting the small triangles). That will leave me Monday to sew the purple units and Tuesday comes for sewing group/trimming day. Wednesday the solar people come to install our panels, and Thursday I leave on my trip!
I debated all day yesterday about linking this video. I have decided to do so with this trigger warning: it is a strong message on breast cancer prevention/screening. Turned out after Celine Dion, the next artist up were the Divinyls. Mostly unknown in the States except as a one hit wonder, Chrissy Amphlett was an amazing talent who died far too young from breast cancer.
This Anthem version of I Touch Myself was made to support breast cancer awareness. The singers are survivors and sisters and others impacted by breast cancer. I find seeing Olivia Newton John in there looking healthy and happy during her many years of remission to be quite poignant... The song does not start automatically, you can decide if you want to go further.

I did get the pink/neutral geese done (except for trimming). All my squares for neutral/purple geese are cut and ready to go. Hope to get them sewn/pressed today.
As with the rest of you and your Purple, this is my first time with my gray. A number of the pieces I got were in a bundle, they are all the same brand/designer/shade with different figures/dingbats (snowflakes, stars, etc.). I decided I wanted a bit more texture and variety and added in a couple of lighter shades.
I am enjoying my Monochrome but love seeing the color from the rest of you!
Today I have a chiropractor appointment and then it is supposed to be more snow... Thursday is supposed to be clear and cold but I will need to check with the solar installers to see if they are still on schedule. We are so used to Seattle where everything shuts down for 2 flakes of snow.

Back for a hot tea break! I need to rearrange things into my winter configuration and set out my space heater. It is bearable for short increments but not long sewing sessions.
My personal style of quilting means wanting to doing everything for each step at the same time for consistency. However, my personal body says I need to switch activities more often. So I'm trying to do a few of whatever, then get up and press, then go back and sew, and so forth. But I still really like going fast. So this is my desk set-up for the geese units. I have my stack of precut neutral squares. I know, Black = Neutral still just looks so wrong. Purple = Gray is more easy to accept. Can't see it in the picture, but in one of my aluminum foil roasting pans I have my little squares. I grab whatever large square is on top, and same thing for the little squares. Slice and sew the set of units, move on to the next piece until I have a "few" and then I press. Go back and put on the other sides, and repeat until I need a break. Like now
Not in the picture but I brought out my little Ott light. For the most part I think I did pretty good choosing which side of the white on whites is correct, some are quite bold and others more subtle. But I was having a hard time this morning with some of the grays.
Also not in the picture, off to the right of the cutting area is my machine. I really need to spend the time to correctly adjust the shelf for the newish machine, and then crank up the overall height a bit. I am getting all sorts of strain and bad cuts the way it is.
Musically we just passed Dylan, Bob and are now on Dylan, Jakob. I'm not sure if I moved Wallflowers to be after Jakob or if I left it in the Ws... will soon find out! I realized that Dire Straights should have been between Dion and Divinyls, when I do my rearranging my CDs will be more available than they are now and I will be able to check. Or maybe the disc is in backwards, that would be the easy fix.

My clue 2s are all cut. I put together a quilt back yesterday; the backing was too short (but still longer than the quilt) after I matched the pattern, so I have to sew 4" of a different fabric to top and bottom, which will then be trimmed off at the end. Then back to Indigo Way and the leader/enders.
Iceblossom, I've also had to switch from doing all of a certain task at once to frequent changes. It's exciting to watch the progress of your monochrome quilt!
