I have step 3 done but still need to take picture. I may have step 4 done or started. Had to put it aside to work on something else. Hope to get back to it this weekend or at least post pictures. Love seeing the progress everyone has been posting.

Has anyone ever seen this pattern done with a larger square for the 4 and 9 patch?

Two blocks done so far. I'm enjoying the scrappiness of it, even thought it's not as traditional as the vintage Burgoyne Surrounded.

Thank you, jc, for posting step four.

I had plan to sew the next four days, but it is going to happen. Weather was winter mix, and now snow. My husband' s cousins and his wife are coming down tomorrow to play cards, and we all enjoy that. I will fix the dessert, so that will not take me long to do. Today dh wanted my corn-oyster dish and a hot lunch (boneless chicken thighs fried with gravy and a small baked potato), and that is all done.

My Christmas BS will be scrappy 'cause the background is taking more than four yards of fabric although I am using three colors....so will mix in the Kona 'snow' for background too. The traditional colors: red, white and blue has used up 4 1/2 yards of snow and I am not done cutting out the background. Continuing to strip for the background.

I really like how the scrappy blocks are turning out!

I'm enjoying being able to strip sew and cut. I've done a lot of "scrappy" type quilts and it's a nice change. I'm almost done with #4. I have 78 of them and need 80 so will have to do a bit more cutting. Darn 40" fabric!

Ho!Ho!Ho! Merry Christmas, this BS quilt of Christmas colors is growing slowly:And so is the traditional colored one:Five of those last ones are done. Will continue with scrappy blocks on the Christmas themed one.

I hope everyone had a nice and peaceful (pieceful) Thanksgiving. I went out of town with some friends for the holiday and had a great time. Now it's time to get back to my projects, especially my Burgoyne.

I'm seeing lots of great pics. Let's keep up our progress.
