All the beds in our house are quilted with my work, sometimes 2 or 3. Doesn't bother me if Iris (our kitty) sheds on them, they wash very well. I try to keep all my relatives supplied with quilts also. Nothing beats cuddling up with or under a quilt made with love.

Like many others here, I have a store bought quilt which I put a sheet over at night because my 3 little dogs and cat get up there to sleep with me. Someone else on here said she had a quilt on her bed she started 20 years ago from cardboard home made patters, cut out with scissors, etc, etc. I have one of those up in my closet that is finished except for the borders and binding. It was a quilt as you go hand pieced and hand quilted. Once it's finished I want to hang it in my bedroom; would not want my babies on it and can't imagine not having them around. The youngest dog (a yorkie/chihuahua) and the cat are both less than a year old and I suspect they'll be around till I'm 80ish!

I am using a quilt I tied in 1978, while I was in High School. I also sometimes use a quilt my Grandparents tied in about '85, it is about worn out. The first of the year I paln to make me a scrappy quilt. I am excited to get started!

I have a beautiful taupe cotton sateen wholecloth quilt on our bed...unfortunately it was bought! I bought coordinating fabrics with the idea of making a topper and some decorative pillows, just another addition to my long to-do list! I have smaller quilts here and there through the house, just no bed quilts. It's not like I haven't made larger quilts...those were just for other people...ironic!

    Beautiful quilts both of them.
And I change my quilts on my bed all the time but they are store bought.

My DH doesn't sleep with me either, he almost broke my nose once, likes to thrash around in his sleep so I don't have to worry what he thinks but I don't like a too heavy quilt on my bed either, I just throw it off if I don't need it, I also like it cool when I sleep, don't want to be hot! If I wake up sweating it starts my day in a grouchy mood
