I'd pick a sashing color that isn't in the blocks. Where the sashing intersects with the same color in the block, you lose the integrity of the block.

I think sashing will really make the blocks pop. I know you're thinking of blue or yellow, but how about black? It might really be dazzling.!

I vote for without sashing, or I even like it with the white on the design wall. But then I like a lot of white in my quilts so it's probably just me :)

I'm partial to the blue sashing.

I think it needs sashing, but I don't think the yellow lets the blocks shine. They seem to blend into the sashing. The blue is too dark in my opinion, I would go with a lighter color. That will make the blocks stand out. Just my opinion, and I'm partial to the green in the blocks also the white in the blocks with a kinda bird footprint pattern would look nice. Sorry to sound so critical, I really like your blocks and the fabrics you have chosen.

    Here's my unsolicited 2 cents:

If you DO add sashing in whatever color you choose, may I suggest taking one block from the center column and undoing the 2 halves. Then use a half block at the top, then the 3 whole blocks, then the other half block at the bottom, with the sashing in between.

The measurements will work out exactly the same, it's not really any more work, and it will give the whole top just a bit more interest than the same-old same-old 3x4 layout.

Oh, and the color for the sashing = not yellow. ;-)

This is what I think also. You have many other color choices if you choose to use sashing to really make your blocks POP. What size are your blocks? Are they enough alone to make the quilt the size you want? Or would you need to make more blocks for your finished size? Just a few things to consider.

Your blocks are really nice :-D

I think the blocks float on the yellow sashing. That's the look I would go for if I decided to use sashing. They also look great without sashing.
