Hi, I'm from Mississippi. I also belong to the SewItsForSale group. They are very picky about what they allow to be sold. And you have to list it a certain way.

If you want to PM me, I'll see if I'm nearby her.

Anyone from Mississippi? We could strike up a deal! Ha! :)

I've bought from SewItsForSale a few times and had no problems. I *think* if you look in their files section there is a place where complaints have been lodged about certain sellers. I've only bought some books and such, nothing real expensive.

I've bought and sold on SewIt'sForSale, I only pay or get paid with paypal. I don't want to mess with checks. I have seen where some want money orders. I have not had any problems. If there are complaints they won't let that person sell anymore.

This restriction is not on SewItsForSale, it is here.

This is what is in the rules at Sew
DO NOT write to sellers and tell them they are selling their items for too much. It is up to the seller what their price is. IF you think it might be a typo write and politely ASK if that was actually the price they meant. DO NOT tell them it is too much for the item, if you dont like the price...you are not forced to buy it. Think of the sellers as a "retail" store.

About seeing the item you are buying on ebay. I am just thinking that maybe the seller is a lttle apprehensive to have you come see her item because of all of the negative Craigslist publicity. Does she have good feedback? Maybe just email her with detailed questions. If she wants to sell it, she will answer you.

Good luck. Let us know what happens!

I use sewitsforsale often and have never had a problem. As for coming to look at something I would never do that. We had a lady in our town raped by someone from Craig's List coming to look at a car.

Now Ebay is another story. I was scammed out of $700 and Paypal did nothing. I wrote it off on my taxes. I sent a Bank Check to Florida and it was deposited in FL and withdrawn 15 min. later in Brazil. The FL dectective told me to stay away from buying things in FL. He said it happens often. The guy who scammed me got 5 others the same day. They have since arrested the man who made the deposit, but I doubt there is any recovery involved.

Probably more than you wanted to know.
