I think the rule of thumb is, if it has a big soft body it is a moth, hard thin body it is a butterfly. I heard that once.

Yep, Murphy is right! My daughter once found a bunch of the cocoons for them & hatched them in her window sill. They're beautiful.

Aren't butterflies the best! I just love to watch them flutter over a flower until they land and take of the nectar there.
